Summer 2025

Dear Clients & Friends:

Thus far in 2025, over 800,000 jobs have been lost in the US, according to The Economic Times. The technology, retail, and government sectors have been particularly hard hit, with factors like AI and federal budget cuts contributing to the job losses. All of this has kept us very busy.

We are here to help and to work with you to prepare in advance for pending layoffs, as our last article in Main Line Today detailed. Contact us for a free consultation to see how we can help you or your friends and colleagues.

The US Supreme Court’s June 2025 unanimous decision in Ames v. Ohio Dept. of Youth Services has made it easier for those employees in the “majority” to file reverse discrimination claims. In Ames, a heterosexual woman claimed she was denied a promotion and later demoted due to her straight sexual orientation. The Court held that Title VII establishes the same protections for every individual—without regard to that individual’s membership in a minority or majority group.

Our practice has already seen an uptick in reverse discrimination claims, and we expect that trend will continue. Please click on the links below to read more about other legal trends, tips for coping during difficult times, and to share in recent honors and recognition for the practice.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and thank you again for every opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

Kyle Kostesich
